A lot of silly ass band wagon limp dicks will come out and throw his name around, alongside Crumb and maybe Kirby, but many just don’t realize the big picture impact Pekar did for comics and well for many of us creators in the field. He does deserve to be alongside Kirby, Schultz, Frazetta as major influences of well…. all art of the last 30 years or so.
I had a very slim chance to work with him once, when he was working with Modern Tales at one point and pretty much got in line to illustrate. It never came to fruition, because he left to do other stuff. I hate that I lost that chance, now more than every….

Brad Pitt To Cast Himself In World War Z

This sounds like it would cement a good movie. Brad Pitt, for all the media coverages and tabloid crap, seems like a smart guy and an a pretty amazing actor, so if he can touch upon this, and make really deliver the fun of Max Brook’s album, I’m all for it.

If they can really deliver it in a journalistic sense, not like a real time documentary ( well maybe parts of it but like a recollection like those great History Channel specials on WW2, it could prove awesome. Either that or somehow have the embedded/roving reporter type running around capturing all the batshit crazy things that are happening.

Man, Zombies be blowing up this joint!
