Apocalypse 101 Page. 12
D”OH!
For some reason the small write up I had under this didn’t initially come out; grrrr, webcomics lesson number 18: always check on your comics updates even if you looked it over a million times! So, here you go:
Flashback! Frank seems to be floating between the NOW and THEN, and gives us a glimpse to the what could have started things for the Zombie-pocalypse that was happening. More will come, and also intro to the character who may have helped him.
Language: “Levantese!” (Panel 1) means “GET UP!”, “Dale CARAJO! Muchacho Bago!” (Panel 3) means “Lets go, damn it! Lazy Kid!”, and finally “Bastante trabajamos, para que puedas comer” (Panel 4) means “We work plenty, so that you can eat!” but in a very punitive way of saying it, or in other words, a guilt trip.
Before you think this is some sort of abuse, it really isn’t; growing up I got the deal all the time, and really still do. I think parents do this all the time to their kids in any culture, but Cubans tend to do it pretty damn well
NOTE: Thanks to Mely for spotting some inconsistencies in the Spanish, now go back to playing Warcraft darling, you’re falling behind…

Loving the comic, managed to catch it on day one. Just wondering what the translation is for the two comments the parents made?

Sorry about that, it seemed that the translations I put in slipped through, but you can see now that I edited and put it up. Thanks for reading and for commenting!
