“NO DYING, TODAY” pg. 25

I guess things are heating up for Frank, huh? Get it? Heating up! TEE-HEE!

………

That was GOD-FUCKING-HORRIBLE, whic bring me to the next point: Not being a Cock Monkey.

By Cock Monkey I mean, not being a measly asshole and try to get your attention on EVERY PAGE in some cliff hanger sort of way. Sure right now you’re flipping through here and reading a guy running from zombies and explosions, but it has a pace and i’m sticking ot that pace, just like the agonizing pace of the flashback. At first it was 2-3 pages, which was 2-3 weks of comics. That can really make a guy pull his hair out, but I do it to tell a sotry. Sure I could be all “Stay Tuned for the next Zombie Years comic” but does it really help? No. I take a leap of faith. A Leap of faith that you, mighty readers are gonna stick around for the pay off.

Why?

Because it has to be like that. If it can’t, or if it won’t, well then, time to make Shelves or something…

Check out Warren Ellis‘s Webcomics Stage over at the White Chapel Message Board and check out some awesome webcomics from around the world. it’s pretty awesome, so far I would say the suckage is staying at below 10%, so it’s a good gamble you’ll find good reads. (plus you can see ZY here and a new Poster Image for ZY)

So stay tuned. at the same Zombie Time, on this same ZOmbie Channel for more zany Zombie FUN, on ZOmbie YEARS! EVERY WEDNESDAY!

There’s nothing wrong with your pacing. I hope Frank gets the girl out okay. :)

For real. And besides, this is already much more interesting than most of the non-gag webcomics out there.

    Thanks a lot!
I had an e-mail or two about it, and while not really concerned, felt that it could possibly reflect a larger reader opinion.
But see this is where all the webcomic advice out there tell you to put a cliffhanger and keep the audience wrapped in blah, blah, blah. And yes it is good advice but, what about exposition? What about letting thing get flavor?
Sure the old newspaper comics did that, and sure that worked, FORTY YEARS AGO. Have you read them now? They’re hokey as shit. They did the same thing in TV, like ALF! For fuck sake, I don’t want to derive anything in Zombie Years that’s from ALF!
    Except for eating cats.
