Man, physical health is everything when it comes to the Zombie Apocalypse…… shit, I’m in trouble.

Yeah, this week has been a little looser but even with all that, I’m still up to my gills with different projects.

In the beginning, I talked about not using a car, a bicycle being twelve times better. Then again when you need a full-on ride to plow through the Herds of Zombies, nothing does it like the MONSTER. But you gotta fuel that thing, and the bastard guzzles a plenty. So when the world has stood still you’ll need to know some tricks to get the fuel and if not, to make the fuel. Now how environmentally correct would it be to make fuel from Zombies? It’s like ethical, sensible, and even fun for the whole family.

I will be looking into that more, for sure…

One of the things that concerns me is that how certain things might still be running or react after the fall of man. I mean, how will nuclear reactors turn down? How about Missile systems? How about all the secret shit out there like Area 51 and such? How does any of that not blow up to shit? More things to answer.

In other news, last week was awesome sauce. Between the success of the GLITCH show, Creature’s projects chugging along awesome, and other opportunities that have come in, I am quite amazed. More soon, for sure.

First they want our brains, now they want our Cash!

Okay I’m exaggerating but if you look at this court case ( sent again by the Kahn) it’s unbelievable the ridiculousness that can happen when the police are involved. Now I love my fellow officers (DON”T HIT ME) and have many friends are cops (I don’t hold it against them) but you can’t help that as certain laws get stricter and people get more paranoid ( and cops are people, and hence, get more paranoid too) that silly shit like this happens.

Now it’s very easy to walk into a situation and act a fool out of sheer precaution. I remember that idiotic show Scare Tactics had that; in one instance where the crew seemingly bungle into a serial killer situation and the actor player said killer goes “nuts”, the guy they were trying to fool actually wails on the actor. Nothing big happens but if you present folks with an instance for second that absurd AND believable, they are going over react. Of course, police are trained professionals, so they should have known better and I hope the Zombies use thier money for plenty of body parts, skin cream, helmets and he maybe some ZY swag eh?

Yeah I have no shame.

I was also sent some awesomeness by Kristian on the a new film called “The Dead”. One interesting aspect I like about this is that it’s produced in Africa with an African Cast. I always figured in my head, with the hardships in Africa, they would be do sort of well against an invasion of the undead. I mean going back to earlier this week about the foibles of a Zombie Apocalypse, when you need natural predators, Africa has us beat! Then again, maybe it would adhere to my theory of Zombies being so unnatural they wouldn’t even get near them? Also the various dictatorships and warlords involved would, fortunately and unfortunately, provide some type of defense or offense against them. Aside from all that, the movie seems shot so well, and so smart, it could be a real thriller to watch so I’m going to be on the look out for this. You can check out more on the movies website.

The new Walking Dead Sneak Peak definitely shows us more of the series. I think this is goign to have a tone like “The Stand” TV series. I love the books, but one things I could say is that it’s a very HARD story to take in. It’s not easy on ones self, and very, VERY much can be both inspiring and disturbing as fuck.
I can’t wait.

This week I went over a couple of the Problems of the Zombie Apocalypse, which made me run to my ZY Story Bible, researching to make sure things work. I mean yeah, we’re stretching things as it is, but no need to get in complete disbelief. This is for Entertainment and Education. When the Zombie attack and you start popping a cap in their ass, remember me! (Please I’ll probably need help too!)

On other news, this Friday I’m participating in an art exhibition, that i also helped hang up, at the CS Gallery in North Miami. If you’re in the area, please pass by as we’ll be celebrating 3 Years since we opened and you can see GL!TCH a group art show. I’ll be there all night.

We also recently wrapped up shooting on our next short film at Creature Entertainment, “KILLSWITCH BILLY” on Sunday. I was there for the day shoot, but amazingly the crew ran through and did a full 24 hours production to get the whole movie down. Unbelievable. I helped write the script and some of the production (I.E Got the Coffee) Here are some pictures from the shoot.

I got a good couple of things I want to blog about so I maybe hitting the site up more this week with some theories and ideas on ZY. Sort of help me flex my mental muscles and release the pressure valve of ideas.

Andyeah that was Del and Frank back again, finding thier missing pilot….but now what?

DUHN-DUN-DUN!

Okay so to continue this little Retort to why Cracked.com’s article:

4. Biting is a Terrible Way to Spread a Disease
Hmmmmm using the same instance of Rabies, and the obvious comparison to 28 Days Later zombies, I could say that if you had some crazy biting assholes running around, gnashing flesh left and right, it could be catastrophic.
Of course in Zombie Years, there is a slant there I’m doing that isn’t about disease or infection. Can’t say what YET, but I’m holding my cards close.
EMPs.
I’ve said too much.

3. They Can’t Heal from Day to Day Damage
True they can’t heal form Damage. That would suck if they got all Wolverine on us, and kept coming back like those damn Red Skeletons from Castlevania. Through it talks about Day-to-Day damage, if they had any sort of circulatory system it could prove somehow resistant. Not to the fact of healing but just dealing with the usual.

2. The Landscape is Full of Zombie-Proof Barriers
Yeah. I got no argument for that. I even liked they touched upon this in Max Brook’s World War Z and how the mountain ranges of the Appalachia and Colorado proved to make a type of bowl for the huge hordes of undead. So yeah, true that.

1. Weapons and the People Who Use Them
This to me is the most valid of the articles points. I don’t think it proves that we would vanquish a huge tide of Zombies coming at us, but America, I mean, “MERICA has guns up the ass. We are armed to the teeth, and if something like that came, we could probably fend off such an attack REALLY REALLY well.
I mean can you imagine Zombies in the Hood? Most living people starting shit there don’t get out alive, how would an undead fuck fair? Nope not gonna happen.

Now mind you this is all theory based on a fairly arbitrary idea based on twirling the thumbs thinking. There are SOME possibilities to it though, believe it or not, but nothing that is stone cold ready to chomp our jugulars. I’m not saying anybody is wrong or right, but they’re is a certain reality that we could safely put our opinions on.

Plus it’s FUN.

..making fun of Zombie Years like a fat kid on the jungle gym.

I was reading an article on the Cracked site (Courtesy of Bruce Kahn ) on how Zombies, as far as the ones we know and love (with Hammers) would utterly fail. As much as it’s all about hilarity, and arguing points about what Zombie are and aren’t, is in the same league as Superman fighting the Hulk (HULK ftw) we can’t turn around and say there isn’t a value to looking at it’s talking points.

And I just have to take these on and mull them over in my brain…

First let me state that this is just an exercise in imagination and not to be knocking on Zombies and Zombie Theory for the past, present and future. This is just me, shooting the shit on the subject.

Also we need to affirm something; are we talking about the classic Romero Undead zombie, back from the grave types? Or are we talking about the Infected Zombie, something along the lines of “28 Days Later” or better known as Running Zombies? Because if we’re talking one thing being Dead and done and coming back, and by the other side, an Insane, I won’t die PCP-like living system (which sort of falls in line with ZY) you have a big difference standing there.

I think the article talks the former….

7. They Have Too Many Natural Predators

This is only too true, what they and how they covered it is pretty much straight on. One sort of slant I have, that since they’re seems to be an innate fear most animals have for us, ANYWAY, they may outright run from Zombies. Many Animals will just see this rotting dead thing and may freak out MORE than we do. I was going to address this in ZY, with the fact that if you noticed, there haven’t been any animal in any scenes. Maybe they look at Zombies, and just say “FUUUUUCK THAT” and go the other way because they simply can’t wrap their head around the idea of something dead, but still moving. Plus it smells DEAD, and most animals are smart enough to not eat something infected like that. Then again some, like Vulture and Komodo Dragons are built for that, but we don’t really have too much of that.

There is an Arch I wanted to explore later on that will touch on this, probably by issue 6 or 7.

As for the Maggots/Fly thing, I have some ideas, but I will mention that later…

6. They Can’t Handle the Cold

Hmm, dead meat couldn’t for sure, but the actual living-ish tissue of Zombies, if the circulatory system is there, could possibly work well against the cold. They would be slow, but to what degree? Luckily ZY is in Miami, so that REALLY doesn’t come in to play. Now as for the HEAT….

5. They Can’t Take the Heat

….uh…

Dood, I think it’s hard enough for HUMANS in this 97 degree Heat to survive, so it’s hard for me to knock some sort of explanation to this. I mean it would come down to internal system, maybe system that could possibly work with little or nothing since the body would be half dead.

The other side of the problem to me is the humidity, which would only be fended off by, again a sort of circulation system of sorts to keep it functioning.

I think that the key to a Zombie, that it requires low maintenance for/from the Body’s Organs so could be survivable to any extreme. Considering what people can do when certain Governor systems in the brain are gone and what the body CAN do in extremes it’s not too far off.

CONT.

WAAAAARGH! Never say never!

I just went through a week of no Laptop. Holy Geez, I was shaking like a Meth Addict trying to go clean….urgh! But all in all, another page of ZY! Nothing gonna stop me damn it! I’m like a Zombie chasing a fat guy, patient and insane, waiting for you to drop! ( I mean look at the quote I have under the title!)

So yeah this week has been….different. It’s amazing how much of an extension a machine can be of yourself. It’s not just any one things to it, some big addiction, it’s more like a favorite tool you have on hand and when it’s not there, maaaaaan, you can get nuts. I think I even gots depressed! Geez.

That’s another aspect I want to get into about the After Human Apocalypse: things that are gone. Because believe me after the fall, the internet is shit. Unless you’re like a super brain who really manages to put something together to still be connected (IRC?) but then again, connected to what? I mean as much as this is all servers and a series of “tubes” isn’t the internet made of people, and as such if most of them are dead, not really worthwhile? Or am I wrong and this could be an amazing advantage for one to use without anyone getting in the way.

I smell a plot line.

So yeah, for all the freedom fantasy the post-apocalypse can be in ones head, we don’t take into account how much are lives would go back to the basics, right there and then. Or would it?

Why haven’t someone come up with a Zombie Survival/Paint Gun training park/ride thing yet? Somewhere you take shots to zombies charging up at you, sort of a simulator? Hmmm….. I see dollar signs with that.

I was talking on Thursday’s post, again, about how awesome “Walking Dead” is going to be and such, but also how I got worries about the pacing the story. In the preview the came out of SDCC, we already saw some divergences from the main story line in the city and getting in the tank and such. So it seems confirmed that they will diverge, which again, I have no problem as it doesn’t spin into some weird bullshit. This added with Frank Darabont mentioning, “When we get to season two – knock on wood – it will obviously be expanded from six episodes to thirteen. I’m hoping that we might actually be able to shoot part of it in [winter]. It would be great not just to get out of the heat, but to present a different idea to the audience visually and tonally by having it be winter.”

So it seems again, that this is such an awesome TV show coming in October, my face hurts form smiling. Right on.

Other than that I got introduced to some great music last week on here, Facebook and the Twitter. The Black Keys are just fucking thumping, I really have been digging it (thanks Chris) and it’s really goes along with my Deadboy and the Elephant Men love. Also was reminded about how much I love the Cramps and have been listening to that, especially “Under the Wires” and “The Crusher” . Also been listening to even more Hans Zimmer than usual, now with the Inception soundtrack blaring as I draw, it help me come up with more dramatic flares to scripts and such.

WOW

Overall both shows how far they are willing to go to make the show work. Nothing is in passing and if anything they are putting even more detail in than the book. Funny thing is that I’m just really itching to now what they have written in and/or out of the book. I know that in a season they could clear a lot of issues out in just the season premiere, so i’m just thinking how will they pace this.

FUCK YEAH.
